The BASE Apparel brand was established in 2022 by the founders of Smith Legacy LLC, Alphonso and Syreeta Smith. The brother and sister team started the brand to honor the legacy of their late father, Alphonso Smith Sr., by giving back to veterans in need. Their father had a successful career in the USAF for over 20 years, and during that time the duo was able to live and travel all over the world meeting new brothers and sisters everywhere.

 

​Growing up as military dependents, the siblings experienced the bonds that existed between the extended families on every base. The brand honors the many US bases and military families throughout the world, while also paying homage to their heritage as a black owned business.
